Mini Goldendoodle Puppies for Sale

The Mini Goldendoodle is a fantastic mix of the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. It first appeared in the United States in the 1990s and got its name in the year 1992. Having such lovely parents on both sides, the Goldendoodle is an attractively stunning, playful, and brilliant crossbreed.

Goldendoodles are a special breed of dogs. They don’t have an officially registered breed of their own and are sometimes called a ‘’designer breed” for this reason. Breeders carefully breed them to have only the best features of their parents. Hence, leaving them as spellbinding canines from their appearance to other beautiful traits.

Dog handlers who have allergies may choose the Goldendoodle because they are hypoallergenic. However, it is important to note that all dog species have discharge urine and saliva which stimulates some allergens. Hence, there is every tendency that the Goldendoodle would produce allergies, though not much.

Top 10 Mistakes Everyone Makes When Choosing a Puppy

Breed Sizes

The Goldendoodle comes in both small and big sizes, depending on the size of Poodle that was crossbred with the Golden Retriever. Basically, there is no particular size or breed that the Goldendoodle is aimed at. So, the size variety of this breed is miniature, small and large.

The miniature Goldendoodle ranges between 13 to 20 inches in height and weigh between 15 to 35 pounds. The small Goldendoodle, on the other hand, is 17 to 20 inches and weighs between 40 and 50 pounds. And finally, the large Goldendooddle goes between 20 to 24 inches in height and pulls weight of 50 to 90 pounds.

Grooming

Goldendoodles have a wavy, curly coat which is about 3 inches in length. They always have long hairs on their body, legs, tail, and ears. Though it may not be as curly as that of Poodles, it is never as shaggy as that of Golden Retriever.

Color Variations

Goldendoodles are blessed with cute coats that are a mixture of the hues of their parents. You can find a Goldendoodle to call your own that has one of the following colors:

Dark brown

Orange

Cream

Black

Grey

And those that are multiple colored.

Feeding

Goldendoodles have a recommended amount of food to eat daily. For the adult, depending on his or her size, they consume an average of 1 to 4 cups of high-quality dry dog food. For small Goldendoodles, you can feed them wet or canned meals, though seemingly expensive for a daily schedule. There is also the choice of treating them to a raw diet. For pet parents who will like to go with size specification, there are also meals out there for smaller and large dogs which you can consider for your smaller or larger Doodle. Whichever you deem best, you can run it by your vet for an expert opinion.

Care

Taking care of the Goldendoodle is very important as it is a clear indication that they are loved. The lovely creatures are energetic and require about thirty minutes of daily exercise to keep them from being bored. They are knowledgeable, gentle and always eager to please. It is easy for you or a professional dog trainer to teach Doodles new tricks, including training them to become helpers to disabled persons. While at it, it is good to note that the best way not to lose the confidence of your Doodle while training is to avoid harsh correction.

Health for Goldendoodles

Generally, Goldendoodles are usually healthy and tend to limit the number of inherited illness gotten from both sides of their family tree. However, here are some health issues that may arise during their life span:

Allergies – This illness is common among dog breeds. It could be contracted allergies which are caused by the application of dog shampoos, flea powders, or other chemicals.

Elbow Dysplasia – this condition is normally caused by an abnormal growth which later results in a weakened joint.

Kneecap Luxation – This health challenge is very common with small dogs wherein there is a dislocation of any body part, especially the hind leg. This condition is similar to the elbow dysplasia.

Life Expectancy

The Goldendoodle is an excellent companion either for kids or the entire household. Of course, they have good behavioral traits and can cope in any environment. However, they have a short life span in human years between 10 to 15 years.
